Hypnotherapy is highly effective at helping to create a significant and permanent shift in a person’s way of thinking, feeling and how they behave. The key to its success is determined by your own willingness and motivation to change. Hypnotherapy will be less effective with clients who are less motivated and committed.

Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you and there is no magic formula. You have to work with the therapist and be committed to change. If you have the commitment and motivation you will see positive results.

You may think that you have never been hypnotised but the truth is you will have experienced hypnosis on a daily basis. Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness which everyone experiences on a regular basis. Its a trace like state similar to when you day dream or just before you go to sleep and before you start to wake up from sleep for example. You are in full control and are alert to the hypnotic suggestions experienced whilst in a hypnotic trance. Just like when you are on automatic pilot when driving for example you can bring yourself out of this trance at any time. You are in full control at all times.

Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a method of therapy to help resolve psychological issues which have been programmed in the subconscious or unconscious part of the mind. My job as your hypnotherapist is to guide you into deep relaxation when the more receptive subconscious part of our mind is more open to changing old habits, thought patterns and behaviours.

Yes you will be in full control and will be aware of what is being said to you. A hypnotised person has the full control to open their eyes whenever they want to. Your mind will not accept anything it does not want to accept. A person cannot be hypnotised without their permission. In order to be hypnotised you have to want to be hypnotised.

A common misconception is that a hypnotised person is out of control and this misconception has been largely created from the use of stage hypnosis. Even with stage hypnosis the volunteer has to give their permission and will know what they are getting themselves into.

Providing tailored hypnotherapy sessions via video steaming such as Zoom or Skye is just as effective as therapy session in person. Your therapist will be full engaged and will provide their undivided attention to your session. Your session will last approx. 1 hour; the same as if the session was in person expect you will be in the comfort of your own home, a place that will be familiar to you. Many clients have found online therapy to be very effective and that by having the sessions at home they can relax quicker and are more receptive to the therapy.

All you would need is a smart phone, tablet or a computer for you to receive your therapy sessions online. If you do not have any of these devices then please let us know and we can find an alternative arrangement. Ideally you will need the facility to receive emails as your therapist will send you a link via email to access your online therapy.

I use my expertise as a clinical hypnotherapist to enable you to achieve a more positive, contented way of living.

I am a fully qualified and professional Hypnotherapist & Psychotherapist and I gained my qualification through Inner visions School of Clinical Hypnosis, a leading UK training organisation. This training course is approved and accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council exists to protect both client and hypnotherapist. I adhere to their code of conduct to ensure I offer the best possible treatment and service to all my clients.

What Happens Next?

STEP 1 - FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

Hypnotherapy may not be for everyone so this is why I offer the initial consultation Free of charge with no obligation to continue.

This will be a face to face meeting, over the phone or via video link and will last around 30 minutes. This is for you to find out more about hypnotherapy, how it works and whether it is the right therapy for you. It is a chance for you to find out more about how I work and the benefits I can bring to you. This is a really important factor in whether or not hypnotherapy is going to work. You have to feel comfortable with the hypnotherapist and feel that they will be the right therapist for you. There is no pressure at all to continue its totally up to you.

Its also an opportunity for me to see if I can help you. This involves discussing your issues, where you are now and what you would like to achieve. It involves assessing the history of any issues and developing clear personal goals. This session is really about spending quality time finding out more about you.

STEP 2 - TAILORED THERAPY SESSIONS

Once we are confident that we can work together effectively, an individual programme tailored to your specific needs is created which involves further sessions.

The amount of sessions varies depending on your own individual goals. Typically therapy can take around 4 to 6 sessions but some phobias for example can be treated in as little as 1 or 2 sessions. This will be determined in the first consultation.

These sessions involve hypnotherapy or trance work and typically last for around 1 to 1 and half hours per session.

The hypnotherapy sessions firstly involve relaxation by closing your eyes and using visualisation techniques which are very effective. Once in a deep state of relaxation, this is the state of mind where I communicate to your subconscious mind by using suggestion therapy and other techniques.
